Fifty students in grades fourth through eighth have been invited to attend the prestigious MCPS Young Leaders Conference on Saturday, March 11 at Marion County High School.

Now in its eighth year, the annual Young Leaders Conference is organized by the MCPS Student Ambassadors who plan sessions focused on leadership development and soft skills.

In addition to touring the high school, students will also get to interact with peers from other schools, learn lessons related to student leadership, and conclude the day with an awards ceremony.

On hand to give the keynote address will be current Miss Kentucky Hannah Edelen.

“This event has been an important part of the Student Ambassador program as well as the development of future student leaders for several years now,” MCPS Student Ambassador advisor Jason Simpson said. “It’s always a highlight of the year for the ambassadors to plan the event and we’re hoping these attendees have an experience that encourages them to continue to be great student leaders for our schools.”

The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and parents are invited to attend the awards ceremony where each student will be recognized starting at 11:00 a.m.
