Community members can get their first look at the new Calvary Elementary on Tuesday, December 10 when MCPS hosts a community open house for the new school. The open house begins at 4:00 pm and will last until approximately 6:30 pm.
Visitors will also have the opportunity have one final walk-through of the current Calvary Elementary.
“We want this to be a celebration of the new Calvary Elementary,” MCPS Superintendent Chris Brady said. “This is a building that the Calvary community can really be proud of, and I hope anyone who’s interested is able to attend our open house.”
Brady also said he thinks being able to see the current CES one final time may be just as memorable.
“I know there are many community members, myself included, who have very fond memories of their time at Calvary Elementary,” Brady said. “I think it will be special to get one final look at that building the same night that you can tour the new school.”
In addition to having large classrooms the new school includes features such a full-size gymnasium, STEM lab, and extended learning areas in the hallways.
