Marion County High School agriculture teacher Makenzie Thomas was recently awarded the Lincoln Trail Region Golden Owl award. In addition, she received a $500 check and will now move on to the state competition to become Kentucky’s Ag Teacher of the Year.

Thomas received the award during a ceremony in the school's gymnasium with the school’s FFA members in attendance.

Kentucky FFA Program Development Specialist Jeff Hayes was on hand to present the award and MCHS students Sawyer Cambron and Adam Blanford shared brief testimonials about their experiences as students of Thomas.
