Following the governor’s announcement this week, Marion County Public Schools will remain on Distance-Learning until January. The governor’s order did indicate that elementary schools could potentially return to In-Person learning earlier if the county’s incidence rate lowered to a point that the county was no longer in the red zone. However, Marion County’s current incidence rate makes that an unlikely option.
Schools will still have the option to bring in small groups of students for targeted services.
Monday (Nov. 23) and Tuesday (Nov. 24) of next week are scheduled as NTI days, with no school the remainder of the week for Thanksgiving Break, and the final three Fridays of the 2020 school calendar will also be NTI days in MCPS: December 4, 11, and 18.
As a reminder, on NTI days, students are not required to log-in to class at specified times. Instead, teachers provide assignments and activities online.
