Marion County Public Schools’ four elementary schools will return to full-time In-Person learning Monday, February 22 for students in kindergarten through fifth grade -- this will not apply to preschool. Students will attend In-Person learning four days each week as Wednesdays are still scheduled NTI days for the entire district.
Parents will still have the option for their children to remain enrolled in Distance-Learning.
For the time being, Marion County Middle School, Marion County Knight Academy, and Marion County High School will remain on a Hybrid A/B schedule, although the district is optimistic that eventually all schools will open to full-time In-Person learning.
“This is an important step in returning to full-time In-Person learning for the entire district,” MCPS Superintendent Taylora Schlosser said. “Obviously, things can change, but we’re very excited to welcome our elementary students back into our schools. More importantly, we feel we can take this step safely as we continue to follow safety expectations.”
