At Monday night’s Special Called meeting, the MCPS Board of Education voted to amend the MCPS Return-to-School plan to include universal masking for all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status, unless otherwise exempted (e.g. cannot wear a mask due to a disability).
For students who are medically exempt from wearing a mask, parents are asked to provide a doctor’s note to the school.
Also, as the board discussed, if Marion County were to move to a moderate incidence rate, the board may choose to remove universal masking from the Return-to-School plan.
