Based on guidance from the Kentucky Department of Public Health and the Kentucky Department of Education, Marion County Public Schools will continue to follow the protocols regarding positive cases of COVID-19 and exposures which were already in place prior to the most recent CDC revised guidance.
This means the following who are exposed to a positive case will continue to follow the *10-day quarantine period:
Those who are unvaccinated
Those who are more than six months out from their second Pfizer or Moderna dose and not yet boosted.
Those who are more than two months out from the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and not yet boosted.
Fully vaccinated individuals who are experiencing symptoms.
*A negative test on or after day five would allow a return to school after day seven.
While the Kentucky Department for Public Health issued revised guidance for the general public including institutions of higher learning, guidance for public school districts has not changed.
Below are three handouts regarding positive case protocols, exposure protocols, and the Test-to-Stay program.
