There is NO SCHOOL October 1st-October 11th.  We hope you enjoy your fall break, and we look forward to seeing you on October 12th!

There will be Academic Team tryouts next Tuesday, 3:30-4:30, in Ms. Cobb's room.

The last day to join the MCMS Beta Club will be Tuesday, Sept. 28th. If you need to make arrangements to join or bring in membership dues, please let either Mrs. Thompson or Mr. Tungate know before this date. 

We are having a serious problem with students coming to school without charging their chromebooks.  If students charge their chromebooks at home, the battery should last for two days.  Please remind them to charge their chromebooks at home.

Announcements from the Classroom
Lancelot science - 7th grade science will be having a "Body Systems" review on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday will be our second test. Students that have not completed their Body Systems powerpoint need to do so by Wednesday or it will be a zero. Please have your students show you their Naiku learning check from Thursday 9/23 and help them decide what to study.  Students also have a study guide.

Excalibur science - We have our unit 2 test on Wednesday, Sept 29th. Students already have a study guide in their possession as well as a copy on Google classroom. 

Lancelot ELA - We are finishing their study of "The Monkey's Paw". Students will write an alternate ending to the story and watch the short film. They will analyze how the short story and the film are similar and different.

7th Grade Social Studies - We are beginning Unit 3 on Monday September 27th over The Rise and Spread of Islam.  They took their unit 2 test on Friday.

ELA6 - This week we wrapped up our review of main idea vs theme, reviewed our 5 core focus skills, and took our first monthly flashback. At the end of each month, students will be given a flashback. Students have to read a text independently and answer 5 questions based on the 5 core focus skills: main idea, inferences, context clues (unknown word), context clues (multiple meaning word), theme. Students will analyze his/her results each month to determine areas of concern/growth.  Next week, students will be working on getting their Digital Driver's License. This is a district requirement. Students must complete the 3 lesson course and pass the quizzes at the end of each lesson to prove that he/she is a responsible digital citizen. The teacher will walk students through these lessons.

6th grade PE - There is a test over fitness components next week.  Camelot will test Tuesday and Merlin will test Wednesday.

6th grade Science - We are taking our "Universe and Atmosphere" test on Wednesday, Sept 29th.  

ESS opportunitiesWe have ESS from 3:30-4:30 on the following days next week:
Monday - Mrs Wood, all subjects
Wednesday - Mrs. Wood, all subjects OR Mrs. Bardin, math only

If your child is quarantined and wants help, we have virtual ESS as well.

Every day, students can have a sack lunch, a salad, or one of the following:
Monday - Hot dog or hamburgers
Tuesday - Pizza or hamburgers
Wednesday - Baked ziti
Thursday - BBQ pulled pork or pizza
