Today is Bus Driver Appreciation Day, so we want to say THANK YOU to all of the drivers in the MCPS Transportation Department! One of the most important responsibilities any school district has is making sure students arrive to school in the mornings and home in the afternoons safely and on time. Due to the road closure of Hwy 49 (Loretto Hwy) and deteriorating road conditions, families living on Hwy 49 in the closed section will need to meet buses beginning tomorrow, April 11. Parents living on the Lebanon end of the construction can meet the bus at Toad Mattingly Rd. or at the old drive-in movie theater at 7:25 AM. Afternoon drop-off will be @ 3:20 PM. Those living on the Loretto end of the construction will need to meet at Sam Browning Rd. @ 7:30 AM & 3:20 PM or drop-off and pick-up your student at Marion County Middle School using the parent drop-off/pick-up in the back of the school.

REMINDER: MCPS will dismiss school tomorrow, Monday, April 8 at 12:00 noon.
Due to concerns related to the solar eclipse, MCPS will release students at 12:00 noon on Monday, April 8. The eclipse will occur later in the afternoon during the normal student release times. Students who attend Marion County Knight Academy or Marion County High School can be dropped off at West Marion Elementary by 7:30 and will then be transported to school. Otherwise, please contact the MCPS bus garage at (270) 692-4150 and we will arrange for a later route to pick up those students.

Due to widespread illness among students and staff, there will be no school tomorrow, Wednesday, February 28 in Marion County. The district will use tomorrow to deep clean all of the schools. Additionally, Thursday and Friday of this week will be NTI days 3 and 4; students will learn from home and teachers will be available to answer questions. Please contact your child’s school if you have questions about NTI assignments for Thursday and Friday.
