Students and staff will get a trial run for the upcoming school year on August 2 when MCPS hosts a district-wide Transition Day.
The modified school day is intended to allow students to experience a school day, learn important practices and procedures, and have fun during the process.
Transition Day will begin at normal school time, but will release at 1:00 pm.
MCPS will provide transportation, although families may opt to drop-off and pick-up students. Please make sure your child knows how they will be transported in the afternoon (bus or parent pick-up); if you'd like your child dropped off at a different address in the afternoon, please send a note. Parents can contact the MCPS bus garage for questions about transportation: (270) 692-4150.
Students will also receive breakfast and lunch while at school on Transition Day.
While attendance is not required, we certainly hope families take advantage of Transition Day as a way to get students -- especially those who are transitioning to a new building -- acclimated to their schools for the upcoming year.

Online Registration is now open for the 2024-2025 school year. Families can complete Online Registration through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal or by downloading the Infinite Campus mobile app. Infinite Campus includes helpful link for those who may have forgotten their usernames or passwords.
If families have questions about online registration, they should contact their child's school or send their questions by email to: icsupport@marion.kyschools.us.
Families who are new to Marion County Public Schools should contact their child's school to schedule a time to complete registration in-person at the school. If families are unsure which school their child will attend they should contact the MCPS central office at (270) 692-3721.

Don't forget: Tomorrow (July 17) is our weekly bulk meal distribution from 2:30-5:30 on our main campus. Please enter by Glasscock Elementary and follow the traffic map provided. We may need to alter the route based on the number of vehicles on campus.

From MCPS Director of Bands Adam McRay:
Students entering grades 7 - 12 enrolled in band or interested in color guard are invited to come to a non-commitment trial day of band camp on Monday, July 15 from 8am to 5pm at Marion High School to see if they are interested in joining the marching band program. Students attending should bring a lunch or have lunch brought to them at 11:30 (lunch will not be provided). Students should dress school appropriately for the heat, wear tennis shoes, bring a refillable water bottle, and their instrument equipment. The band room doors will be open by 7:30. Students can be dropped off behind the high school and come into the band room. Students should be picked up at 5pm in the same location. If you have any questions, please contact Adam McRay by email at adam.mcray@marion.kyschools.us.

Our weekly meal distribution resumes tomorrow, Wednesday, July 10 from 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm. Please enter campus at Glasscock Elementary. We may need to adjust the route through campus depending on the number of vehicles. Meal bundles are available for all children ages 1 - 18.

If you have a student in grades 6-12 interested in joining the MCPS band program, make sure you attend an informational meeting for parents and students Monday, July 8 at 6:00 pm at Marion County High School.
This meeting is for both returning band members and those who think they might be interested in joining.

Now is a great time to download the official Marion County Public Schools mobile app. Just search for "Marion County KY Schools" in the App Store or Google Play.
You can use the app to view events, lunch menus, and receive push notifications about MCPS!

Our next bulk meal distribution for children ages 1 - 18 is Wednesday, June 19 from 2:30-5:30 at Marion County Knight Academy. We've made a few adjustments from last week which we hope provides a better experience for those picking up meals. First the pick-up route will now begin at Glasscock Elementary -- please follow the route on our updated map. Also, you will not need to provide demographic information when picking up meals. At the distribution site, we intend to have two pick-up spots available to speed up the process.
Finally, please be aware that there will be work occurring on campus involving large dump trucks delivering loads of dirt for a future project. This should not interfere with the meal distribution, but we want families be aware of this prior to Wednesday.
You can view this week's menu and serving instructions at the following link: https://5il.co/2p0gg

Our bulk meal distribution for today will end early as we have nearly distributed all available meal bundles.

For those who plan on picking up a bulk meal package at our meal distribution site today, here are the preparation instructions.
As a reminder, meal distribution is from 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm at Marion County Knight Academy. Meals are distributed on a first come, first served basis with 1,500 meal bundles available.

Last night, we held a community forum to discuss the redistricting process. If you were unable to attend, you can view Superintendent Brady's presentation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF51vV3_qJ4
